The people who make the work share in it
What we build belongs, in spirit and in practice, to the people who make it and the players who make it worth making. When the studio does well, the folks doing the work should be the first to feel it. We'd rather grow a little slower and bring everyone with us than race ahead and leave people behind.
In practice, that means:
- Fair pay. We want to pay people a good rate for good work.
- Shared profits, with a ceiling. When there are profits, the people who earned them share in them — up to a sensible cap. What's left above the cap goes back into the studio: new projects, a rainy-day fund, and the people we bring on next. Nobody gets rich at everyone else's expense, and the studio stays healthy enough to keep making things.
- Honesty about where we are. We're an early, work-in-progress studio. Until real revenue gives us real numbers, we won't promise figures we can't stand behind — we'll set the details together as the studio grows, and share them openly. For now, the products and the way we make them come first.
Investing in the next generation
Joining Chaotic Good Tech comes with one commitment we ask everyone to make from day one: putting part of their pay toward the future of kids.
- If you have children, a portion of your pay goes into their future — a 529 college savings plan, a Trump Account, or both.
- If you don't, you give a similar portion to a children's cause or charity of your choosing — about what our parents set aside for a single child.
It's part of what working here means, and we talk it through before anyone signs on. Every paycheck at CGT is partly a bet on the next generation, because a future worth playing in doesn't build itself.
How we work together
No titles to hide behind: decisions are made in the open, argued with evidence, and owned by whoever does the work. See our mission for the values behind it, and who we're looking for if this sounds like you.
